First of all – what is a mobile security patrol? This a security officer who serves a rolling series of properties. They will typically do routine patrols on the subject properties once a night (or more if required). They would normally check for obvious points, doors and gates securely shut, any sign of any unusual activity, any evidence that the property is not as it should be. Additionally, in the event of an alarm or call from an owner, a mobile security patrol can converge on a property within a short time, removing the risk of people who should not be on the property, thwarting criminal activity, or securing a property rapidly and dealing with authorities int he event of a break in.
This is a service that is needed by a business that typically have periods of time where the property is not occupied but may have a lot of items that are of high value, or high risk of attempted robbery.
The business owner may not be in a position or see the need for a full-time security presence. In this case, a mobile security patrol is an excellent compromise. They typically patrol with unexpected timing, making it impossible for a criminal to predict when a break-in could be conducted.
As they are constantly on the road in large numbers, they can also attend an alarm on short notice.
It would be imperative that in a situation like this that the alarm system is going to be reasonably high quality. It should have a good mixture of types of detectors (heat, movement etc) ideally have cameras on exterior points, and would certainly have to have a back to base alert so that a control centre personnel could dispatch a mobile security patrol in the event of what they consider a valid alarm.
As a word of warning, it would be very important to keep your security system properly maintained – a badly operating system might give a large number of false alarms, and fail to alert in a genuine alarm.
Pricing wise, a routine patrol that will come by your property and check the perimeter routinely is not too expensive. A guard coming to your property in the event of an alarm can be expensive. This is no doubt appropriate if the alarm is genuine, but will not be very good if the alarms are false.
In determining if you need a routine security patrol, you should speak to a professional security consultant such as G-Sec. It may be that a Security patrol is completely inappropriate for your business, and other security measures will be more important, or it may be that you need a full time physical security presence.
Whatever the case, G-Sec security will be able to look after your needs.
